78rpm presents a comprehensive selection of Ratpack, Swing and Jazz classics drawn from the Great American Songbook, served up with stylish vocals and superb musicianship. Immaculately turned out, this band is ideal for both wedding celebrations and corporate receptions.
“This fantastic party band evokes a lost world where top hats, white ties and tails were the accepted dresscode and love was forever in the air…”
Look forward to a glitzy, glamorous celebration of the Golden Age of Hollywood and the smash-hit Broadway Musicals – all the very best of these magical ‘tweenwar silver-screen songs, dance-tunes and romantic melodies can readily be found in the band’s extensive repertoire.
Impeccably presented both musically and visually, 78rpm takes you back to that glittering, escapist period between the two world wars when romance was king. Light, frothy vocals, lilting saxophone and stylish piano set the tone. It’s all elegantly underpinned by a toe-tapping rhythm section comprising guitar, double-bass and drums. The band supplies a high-quality PA producing an excellent sound in venues of all sizes.
The line-up is extremely flexible. For informal, intimate entertainment at a small drinks party, a piano/vocal duo may well fit the bill. If dancing is required, add in a drumkit. For larger gatherings, a moody saxophone or a thrilling trumpet (or both) will lend additional colour, texture and warmth to the topline, while guitar and double-bass fill out the harmony, driving the rhythm along and contributing to the overall visual effect.
Whatever your entertainment needs, 78rpm will invariably present a smart, stylish performance to delight your guests and suit the occasion.

Your outstanding, sympathetic and talented musicians added another special dimension to our day.
Nicola Iddon – Great Gatsby Themed Christmas Party –
On behalf of myself, the other organisers of our Christmas Party and everyone who attended we would like to say a massive thank you. The 78rpm Great Gatsby Trio were amazing and really helped everyone get into the 1920’s spirit. This is something different to what we would normally do but you went down a storm. We would highly recommend you, thank you again for making this night a night to remember!!!
Suzanne & Simon –
What a marvellous contribution 78rpm made to our wedding. Your music really did “make” the party, and so many of the guests still refer to your fabulous band.
Jill Olsen –
I just wanted to say how brilliant your crew were last night, they played beautifully, looked great, were very obliging with special requests and charming to all the guests.
Liz Jones –
Thank you so much for Saturday night. We had a fabulous evening to which the band contributed a major part. I’ve had so many comments from guests about how atmospheric the music was; it was just what I wanted and I personally enjoyed it. I will now have to think of another occasion to have a band!
Sue Chaperlin –
78rpm were excellent – so unobtrusive getting in and getting out afterwards and the music was excellent – right up our street and everyone commented on the quality of the playing. They even managed a few tunes from musicals which I hadn’t asked for, but am from a musical theatre group and it looked like I’d planned it beautifully! Many, many thanks to them for making our day so special.
Mr & Mrs Le Breton –
Just a quick note to thank you and your wonderful band for Saturday. Everyone gave them rave reviews and the party went with a swing – Cosmo (age 5) fell in love with the singer! Very many thanks, we will keep you in mind for future events.
Paul Hopwood –
78RPM were excellent. We couldn’t imagine a more perfect and stylish group for the reception. All ages were captivated, and they read the mood of the guests with great song choices – I’m sure chosen on the fly – that got everyone smiling, dancing or just basking in the ambience. The broad grins on the dance floor said it all. Their delivery and musicianship was faultless and it was a privilege to be there and experience the atmosphere they created. Subsequent comments from guests have borne this out – everyone was carried along on the musical wave of nostalgic happiness. Not only that but they were such nice guys!
Sarah and Peter Wearn –
We just wanted to thank 78rpm for their performance on Saturday. They were brilliant and really made the atmosphere of the night. So many guests have asked me to tell the band that they were excellent and lots of fun to dance to. The music was perfectly in keeping with the theme of the wedding. Very enjoyable. Many thanks!
